Who are you guys?

Daarken is a freelance concept artist and illustrator for various companies such as Wizards of the Coast, Fantasy Flight Games, and Blizzard. He has been working professionally in the industry since 2004.
Many of his published works can be viewed at: www.daarken.com

Leif Jeffers is an animator at DreamWorks and has worked on several films including: How to Train your Dragon, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Age of the Dinosaurs, and Horton Hears a Who!

Why are you doing this?

Health care in this country can be extremely expensive even with insurance. The last thing someone needs to worry about while battling cancer is how they are going to pay their medical bills. Leif and I felt this was a good way to not only help Cat with her expenses, but we could also throw an event that is both a fun and creative way to help the fight against breast cancer. Remaining proceeds will be donated to a BC charity which will be determined by the contributing artists.

I would like to participate, how can I contribute a piece of art?

You are welcome to be a part of the show, but due to the overwhelming response in such a short amount of time we might not have enough gallery space to display all of the art submitted. Even if you don't get into the opening reception, you will definitely be able to be a part of the online auction.

Is this an online auction or will you only be accepting bids at the gallery?

Currently this is only an online auction which will be orchestrated through ebay unless a better outlet is found.

When is the deadline for the art?

The tentative deadline is February 1st, 2010.

Where do we ship the art?

Please contact us for the shipping address.

Will we be able to view each submission online?

Yes. Before any artist ships their piece to the gallery we please ask that they e-mail us a digital version so that we can put it on the site. You can send the file to beautifulgrim@daarken.com

I am a digital artist. Are you only looking for traditional work?

While traditional art is preferred, digital art is perfectly acceptable as long as they are high quality, framed prints. Any print that isn't printed and framed will have to be done out of our own pocket. Now that we have almost 200 artists it will be too expensive for us to print, frame, and ship each submission. Once we find a gallery we will have you ship your piece directly to the gallery. Thank you!

I am a sculptor, photographer, fashion designer, etc. Can I still contribute?

Of course! We already have several sculptors, photographers, and fashion designers contributing.
